Wushu is on the shortlist of additional events for Tokyo 2020 Olympics

Contemporary Wushu

“Contemporary Wushu”, also known as “Competition Wushu” was developed as a competitive sport in the People's Republic of China after 1949. It is based on traditional Chinese martial arts but with extreme physical challenges. Wushu Taolu involves martial art patterns and maneuvers for which competitors are judged and given points according to specific rules. The forms comprise basic movements (stances, kicks, punches, balances, jumps, sweeps and throws) based on aggregate categories of traditional Chinese martial art styles and can be changed for competitions to highlight one's strengths.

Master Niu is an International level Wushu Judge, certified by International Wushu Federation(IWUF). He served as one of the official judges at US National Wushu Team Trial in 2005, US Youth National Wushu Team Trial in 2006, as well as being the official US Team Judge at 2006 Pan Am International Wushu & Kung Fu Championship.
